My computer freezes during scans and other situations?
I have an HP Pavilion dv9700 notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.Lately my computer has been slow to start up, randomly freezes or becomes unresponsive, and has a guaranteed freeze up when I try to run a scan of ANY sort I've even tried doing the sfc scan .I've ran a Malwarebytes scan in Safe mode and outside of safe mode, removing a decent number of things. However, when I try to run a virus scan, it freezes around a certain point and I have to turn off my computer and try again.On the latest scan I was able to get the file it stopped on C ... x86 netfx sbcmpl0 dll 31bf3856ad364e35 6.0.6000.16386 none 72cf3ea60810dc6l.manifestI had to break up the file name since Answers won't show it all.I don't know what it means and I'd rather have complete access of my computer again I'm typing this as fast as I can before it freezes I'm able to run complete scans of my external hard drive without fail it has a backup on it but I'm pretty sure at most it's about a month old. , should I just reformat my hard drive and use the back up? after I run another scan on it to be safe If not I'd like some more things I could try because I'm really getting irritated.Oh and I almost forgot, I use Avast and I ran a Boot scan, it only came up with 1 PUP.
